Issue with water damage to the road side causing failure to the slope.
CC was used to create a new gulley to both protect the slope and take water down the slope and into a holding area for it to drain away.
This process usually takes the contractor 4 to 6 hours to complete and issues arise as the concrete cracks so allowing water to penetrate when it rains causing a failure. CC however does not crack. The slope was made good and CC8 laid down the slope and a plinth at the bottom to act as a catchment/run off to protect the base of the slope.
The entire job was done and completed in 2 hours and the material was hard by 12:00 and we re-watered it at 17:00 as the concrete at the top was in need of re-hydration. No cracking on the CC is evident and it was checked on the 19th July and is in perfect condition.
The contractor who laid the CC was very happy as were the engineers and reported back to RTA that the trial was successful.
